    DolphinsTryouts

The Summer swim season is fast approaching and tryouts begin May 7th. Many don't know what to expect when planning to try out for the dolphins, but no need to fear. Here is everything you need to know before coming to the dolphins tryouts.

First, you need to figure out whether a try out is necissary for your swimmer. If you are brand new to the Dolphins, a try out will be required. If you have been on the Dolphins development team before, you still need to try out for the team. If you have never been on the Dolphins, team or development, but have swam during the MSA season, please speak with a coach prior to try out dates as you may not be required to try out.

Second, please make sure you come to the appropriate try out day for your age group. May 7 is for 8 & Under, May 8 is for 9-10 year olds, and May 9 is 11 & Up.
Third, your swimmer will need to bring a suit and a pair of goggles to the try out. We will be testing their water skills so please be prepared with a towel as well.
Finally, the coaches will judge each swimmer by his or her ability in each of the four strokes. The bare minimum requirement is 25 yards (1 lap) of freestyle without stopping and some knowledge of backstroke.

As the team is growing, new swim families should try to understand our size restraints. We can only accept a certain number of athletes onto our team, and the process is very competitive, especially for older swimmers.

Now you're fully prepared for try outs. We hope to see you on the deck!
